ABOUT THE Op Deck 3: A Visual De-Education Kit

It comes from Berkeley during the hey day of the hippies.  The Print Mint made these in 1967.  The screen printed  envelope containing five approximately 8 x 10 inch screen-printed acetate sheets with op art designs in various colors.


Op Deck #3: "A visual de-education kit". Psychedelic art created by Berkeley's iconic The Print Mint, these five colorful acetate sheets come enclosed in a printed envelope. Each sheet has an Op Art geometric or spiral design printed on them. When combined they create very trippy, psychedelic op-art effects that were the hallmark of the Psychedelic Experience. The envelope is printed in blue, yellow and white in an optical graphic op art pattern. 


Meant for projected psychedelic light shows, The Print Mint issued these groovy kits of colorful op art transparencies for any trippy hippie’s design needs. While the bright yellow ink on the outside of the envelopes has faded a bit throughout the past few decades, the bright colors on the transparencies inside are as vibrant as when first printed. The Print Mint store on Telegraph Ave was a major publisher of underground comics,
