ABOUT THIS PINBACK:  

The Provisional Irish Republican Army (PIRA), commonly known as the IRA or "the Provos," was a paramilitary group (active roughly 1969–2005) that fought to end British rule in Northern Ireland and achieve a united Ireland. Utilizing violence against British security forces and economic targets, they were the most active group during "the Troubles" before disarming following the 1998 Belfast Agreement.
