MIDNITE SPOOK SHOW DANTINI MASTER OF HORROR ORIGINAL POSTER WITH BELA LUGOSI FILM WHITE ZOMBIE

ASBOUT DANTINI- His name was Vincent Cierkes, son of Polish immigrants Julian Cierkes and Rozalia Olsiewski Cierkes. In the world of magic and entertainment, he was Dantini, a name he made up from a combination of the names of his heroes, Dante and Houdini. Sometimes, he was referred to as Dantini the Magnificent.
Dantini was born in Fells Point on March 28, 1900, and lived many of his years in the Fells Point area. From the time when he was 9 years old and saw his first magic show, he was hooked on magic. At age 15, he traveled to Pittsburgh as he took his magic on the road.
He traveled around, performing on Coney Island as Doctor Zangar Jr. One day when visiting a New York magic shop on 42nd Street, he met the great Houdini. He was friendly enough with Houdini that Houdini loaned him several dollars (which were never repaid). The rest of his life, Dantini promoted himself as a person who knew Houdini.
